La Lotería Aumentada, a Borderline Project, by Patricia Espinosa and John Craig Freeman
![]() |
La Lotería Aumentada is an augmented reality public art project with locations in Brooklyn and Victoria British Columbia. Built for smart phone mobile devices, this project allows the audience to be immersed in a virtual vortex of alternative La Loteria cards floating and spinning in space. The public can simply download and launch the project and aim their device’s cameras at the surrounding area. The application uses geolocation software to superimpose the cards at precise GPS coordinates, enabling public to see them integrated into the physical location as if they existed in the real world. This project has been included in the Art of a Placebo Exhibition at Digital Art Weeks, which will take place in Victoria British Columbia, CA, Wednesday 26 October to 2 November 2011. Instructions
